new stuff for the wife!

I went out and bought two new pairs of shoes (one for work), a maternity shirt and maternity pants (both suitable for work, though not STRICTLY per the dresscode) today. It is nice to have clothes which actually fit, even if I did scour three stores to only find one shirt and one pair of pants.

I don't really get how the maternity sizing works, but I will figure it out, I guess. I'm sure I'll be going back for more soon enough!

new development

Every time I get out of bed (which is more of a to-do than you'd suspect, since our bed is on the floor right now) my hips make exciting crackly, popping noises. Hooray!

Happy Birthday, Becca!

Yesterday we went to Becca's first birthday party. We got her a dump truck, which she has been diligently putting things into and taking things out of. :) Alison went crazy and baked three kinds of cake, and there was a moonwalk and lots of yummy grilled goodies. I would post pictures, but we forgot to bring the camera.... whoops!

It's hard to believe Becca is already a year old. I guess it's a good thing, since she has to be a big sister in about six more months!

Happy Mother's Day!

Alex got me cheese danish and strawberries (lovely luxuries) and a bottle of tums (a necessity, thanks to my critter-induced acid reflux). What a nice husband, huh?

a baby boom?

Apparently our birth center is so loaded up with babies for the late summer and fall that we already had to schedule all our appointments for the rest of the pregnancy! At least they're getting a lot of business, right?

Actually, last time we were there our appointment was delayed a little bit because Dr. Browne had to go deliver a baby. :)

Baby is in the 87th percentile now....

We got to see our good doctor (Dr. Browne) for our appointment last week. She says everything is fine. There is no problem with the baby's size, the amount of amniotic fluid, my weight, or anything else you'd maybe need to have a problem with. (See why I like her?)

We have all our appointments set up from now until September (even one after the due date--being realistic!) and a whole bunch of baby-related classes too. I think we're in good shape!

kill the cat?

Bo just jumped from the windowsill to crash-land (all 11 pounds of him) square on my belly.

sneaking up on the baby :)

In a show of parental solidarity, we totally tricked the baby. :)

The baby has been pretty vigorous about kicking (so you can definitely feel it from the outside) but has also been really good at not letting anyone but me feel the kicks and wiggles. Apparently, if I say anything like "Hey, feel this" or "Come over here, Husband," that's the cue to stop everything and pretend you're not there.

WELL. Alex was bringing me some juice and he came into the room right as the baby was really getting some exercises done. I made a "shhh" sign and pointed at my belly, so he snuck over quietly and put his hand where I pointed, and.... *WHAM!* .... *wiggle-roll*

GOTCHA! :)

success!

After doing three cases under the supervision of the Managing Editor of Med Legal, she has approved me to do cases on my own. I am very proud! :)

My first on-my-own case is somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 pages, of course, but that's okay.... It's not due until Tuesday. (Yikes!)
