cravings

I'm getting a lot of questions along the lines of "What's your weirdest craving?"

I thought I didn't have one, really.... until I realized that perhaps not everyone thinks drinking pickle juice is normal, per se. :P

Melissa, rogue editor

I was eating salt and vinegar chips and reading the little "how we make the chips" story on the back of the bag when I discovered a run-on sentence: "...the two flavors are complementary, neither flavor overpowers the other."

Really, it is just disappointing when I see that things like this have gotten past "professional" editors.

I think I should start writing to the companies when I see things like this (because it happens fairly frequently) and should keep a record of my results and whether they fix their mistakes. Then, when people want to know my proofreading qualifications, I can tell them, "Well, I'm certainly better than the guy who edits Cape Cod chips--look what he missed...."

tummy progress

Lest anyone doubt that I'm getting along famously, please note photo evidence that I've hit a crucial milestone (tummy sticking out to/past chest):

Yes, that's at just about the 4-month mark. This may be the last photo evidence that will appear, depending on just how much larger I get.... :P

Happy Easter!

A friend of ours brought up the topic of family traditions for holidays, like whether you dye real eggs, hide plastic ones, make an easter basket with candy or toys, and so on.

Hmm... we are going to have to start figuring this out. About a five-second conversation revealed that Alex and I have different ideas of what kind of Easter things you should do with kids. Well, I guess we have all the way until next year (and the year after that, really) before we really have to figure it out. And I like the idea of getting to mix our family traditions together and come up with our own brand. :)

Happy Spring :)

Today is the first day of spring! Not that you could tell it--the wind chill factor is "glacial" in my estimation.

This post is really a message to everyone who thinks they know what I need to hear about impending motherhood.

Please, please, PLEASE --when you see a child doing something annoying or naughty, stop telling me "hahaha that's what you're in for in a few years, hahaha".

1) That's not funny. That's mean-spirited.
2) It's not necessarily true--and if it IS, why do you think I want to hear about it?

baby again

Here is the best picture of ultrasound session #2 (which was done on Feb 25):

You can see Behbeh Bowling lounging without a care in the world. :) Since (for now, anyway) we have decided not to find out the gender beforehand, we may now be entirely done with ultrasounds!
