no baby yet!

Sorry, I know I've been neglecting the blog. I've been too busy enjoying maternity leave. I've been taking loooong naps and having daily walks, and cooking basically anything I think of. Yesterday it was soda bread; today it will be quiche! Lest you think I'm tiring myself out on crazy cooking projects, know the apartment is clean and baby-ready, so there really isn't much else to do! I even read a GIANT book called Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

Yesterday I found out that the full moon is on our due date. (An old wive's tale says that if you're due near a full moon, the baby will likely come ON the full moon....) Not that I really believe it, but it's entertaining to think about. If Critter is born on the due date, he/she will join only 5% of babies who make that happen! In any case, as I keep telling myself, nobody stays pregnant forever--stay tuned!

I keep thinking of you and wondering how you are doing. I enjoyed maternity leave for awhile, but by the 11th day Ashley was overdue, I was ready for the BABY part of it. And you're right, nobody stays pregnant forever. I finally resorted to every old wive's tale I had ever heard worked for someone to get the labor to start, and I also did an assist the C/S gave me. My labor started shortly after all of it.

Oh, and I strongly recommend doing most of your labor at home if you can. I did it that way with Ashley (unintentionally) and looking back, it was smart because I did not have to spend hours laboring in the hospital with lots of people hovering over me.

I agree! I think it was easier to rest and relax between contractions at home than in a hospital.

Keep us posted!! I'm thinking about you all the time! Have Alex text me when you go into labor :D Can't wait for the good news!

Yea, we still don't buy texting plans, so no texts for anyone. :P

I thought this was the longest time of my pregnancies. At the beginning the end is so far away that patience is easy, but at the end it's all used up.

Baby soon!

Why aren't people guessing gender and pounds? oh well. it's fun anyway. Hope you really don't go as long as my real guess. Obviously the baby doesn't have a lot of Alex in him/her as far as birth date is concerned, but is doing good gymnastics, right?
